We are delighted to let you know that all our Senior Management team, our Nursery Managers and our Deputy Managers have recently completed a two day Mental Health Awareness Course through MH First Aid England. We feel really strongly about supporting all our employees across our six Cliffe House nurseries and having Mental Health champions in each nursery is a really positive thing so staff know they always have someone to go to, if they are in need of any extra support.

BOOK OF THE MONTH

Across all our Cliffe House nurseries we have a ‘Book of the Month’ and this months book is We’re Going on a Bear Hunt! It is 30 years since the book was first published and it has been enjoyed by so many since then and still is very much a firm favourite today. All our nurseries have been so creative in thinking of many different ways to bring the story to life to make story time so exciting for the children. We will share lots of images of the story in action across our social media sites in August so watch this space!

All our nurseries have been doing some fantastic Winter and Christmas related activities over the last few weeks.

We have had visits from Father Christmas, carol concerts in our local churches, bauble making competitions, exploring the difference of light and dark and the changing of seasons, various Winter baking activities, different ideas to spark interests in the tuff trays, Christmas stay and play sessions with families and a whole lot more!!

We would like to wish everybody a very Happy Christmas and New Year to come!

This Sunday marks 100 years since the signing of the Armistice bringing an end to the First World War. Across all our nurseries the children have been doing some wonderful activities to celebrate this and also to understand the significance of Remembrance Sunday. Parent’s have enjoyed getting involved with the activities too, bringing in pictures of loved ones that fought in the war and family members who still serve for our country now. What a great way to celebrate, remember them and ensure future generations understand its significance.

All of our six settings are really enjoying lots of Autumn related activities at the moment. The children have been taking the Autumn scavenger hunt bags home and they have been finding some wonderful Autumn treasures which have stimulated different interests which are then sustained in their play at nursery. The Cliffe House Team have been very creative too in thinking of activities to extend and develop the children’s interests further. Great work everyone!

Today our senior management team attended a adult mental health first aid course run by Mental Health First Aid England. We recognise that as a company it is really important to help our staff to encourage positive mental health and to always support one another. The team have found the course invaluable so far and are looking forward to putting what they have learnt into practice across our Cliffe House Nurseries.

Today is the first day of Featherbank’s new pre-school room being open. The nursery already has a downstairs pre-school room but we have recently extended the setting opening a pre-school room on the first floor too. The children have had a great first day and have loved exploring the new environment.

The children at our Baildon setting have been enjoying going on Autumn scavenger hunts with their families. In the hallway there are some little scavenger bags for them to take home and then bring back filled with lots of Autumn goodies! This provokes the children’s interests and together with the staff they have been enjoying some wonderful activities with what they have found. What a lovely way to enjoy the outdoors.
