Across all our Cliffe House settings we really love reading and encouraging literacy throughout all the activities the children enjoy.

To add an extra focus to our children’s learning we have a book of the month which is linked to a particular festival or celebration that occurs that month too. The children love really exploring where the book and festival link can take them across all the areas of learning in the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.

Our families enjoy activities related to the book of the month too at home and they can take different song sheets from nursery that link to the book and festival/celebration too.

The children have been really interested in creative art activities at the moment involving all different mediums from paint, to tissue paper, rice, flour, leaves…. the list is endless and their imagination makes their creations even more magical!

All our Cliffe House nurseries have now re-opened and even though a lot of our nursery routines are quite different to normal – all the children have been taking it in their stride, have adapted really well and have settled in to a new ‘normal’ with confidence and the main thing is they are happy and having fun!!

The virtual tour is a great tool to allow all our new families view the setting remotely at home with the nursery managers always on hand to answer any questions you may have. You can still arrange to come and visit nursery too outside of our normal opening times.

We were thrilled to take over the Instagram account of @ABC Does last week.

Alistair Bryce-Clegg in an international early years consultant, author and blogger who has always been an advocate for the learning through play movement in early years and we really enjoyed being part of their #takeovertuesday where we shared with their 26K Instagram followers our lovely Cliffe House settings and some of the fantastic activities the children enjoy.
